Vera Campbell

Vera Campbell spent more than three decades as the President of KWDZ Manufacturing, LLC (dba Beautees and Knit Works), a Los Angeles-based tween apparel company specializing in the mid-tier retail space, before selling the business in 2020. She is the President of the Vera R. Campbell Foundation, a Foundation that invests in effective organizations that operate with integrity. The Foundation supports innovative solutions that promote opportunity and freedom for all, with a particular focus on creating powerful academic and artistic opportunities for low-income students from the Boyle Heights community, where Vera has been a business owner for decades. The Foundation has an additional emphasis on transformative experiential learning opportunities for students and has partnered with important Los Angeles institutions like the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Museum of Natural History, Self Help Graphics, and others to provide impactful summer learning opportunities for students from Boyle Heights and other communities.
Vera is an active member of the Los Angeles community. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and is a former longtime board member at Inner-City Arts, the Junior Blind of America, and the School of Advanced Research in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is a member of the J. Paul Getty Museum Director’s Council and is one of the founding members of the California Fashion Association and the California Fashion Foundation.
