Jaspreet K Mathauda

Program Facilitator

Jaspreet is a bank regulator working for the State of California helping the department in achieving its mission of serving Californians by overseeing financial service providers and enforcing laws and regulations related to banking.  She studied Business Administration with accounting as her core subject from San Francisco State University and earned her CPA license while working for the state.  She has been working for the state for 11 years and enjoys the ever-changing nature of the job, as each bank they examine presents its own uniqueness, and challenges.  She enjoys working as a part of a team of examiners who get to brainstorm together and help each other out.  The most interesting part of the job for her has been to witness firsthand the challenges and impact of major socio-economic and economic events such as the pandemic, the impacts of monetary policy changes, and a banking crisis on the US banking sector and the economy in general.

Outside of her job, she loves to travel and believes it helps her gain perspective and open her mind.  She also enjoys nature, and running, and tries to participate in at least one 10K per year.  She was introduced to Youth Champions through her friend Michelle Durand and started as a volunteer with the Summer Book Club event in July 2024. She enjoys being a facilitator as it helps her not only share her knowledge with the students, but also learn a lot from the process in return.
